HorsePower Riding Academy terms and conditions and indemnity form

It is a condition of making a booking with HorsePower Riding Academy (HPRA) that all participants agree to be bound by and accept our full terms and conditions.

You agree that entering onto HorsePower Riding Academy property, staying onsite and/or participating in any HPRA activities, including riding, spectating, and agistment, are potentially dangerous activities. If you choose to do so, you do so entirely at your own risk waiving all rights to claim for personal injuries including damages arising from the negligence of the proprietor.

For safety and animal welfare reasons, HorsePower Riding Academy has a maximum rider weight limit for each of its horses and ponies, and provision of a suitable horse or pony is also dependent on the rider’s height-to-weight ratio, riding experience, riding capability, general muscle tone and fitness levels. All riding lessons are subject to the availability of a suitable horse.

HPRA reserves the right to refuse entry to the property and participation in any activities.

Every person who participates in a HorsePower Riding activity, must sign the attached HPRA terms and conditions and indemnity form, accepting these conditions (or in the case of a person under the age of 18 years, it must be signed by her/his parent or guardian).

What to wear and bring for health and safety

– The wearing of a helmet is compulsory for all riders. You may bring your own horseriding helmet, or HorsePower Riding Academy will lend one to the rider at no charge.
– Footwear must be fully enclosed, with a flat hard sole and small heel. Riding boots are ideal.
– Backpacks, bumbags, etc. may not be worn while horseriding.
– We recommend riders wear full-length pants, jodhpurs, moleskins or jeans.
– Depending on the weather, we suggest bringing sunscreen, insect repellent, a brimmed hat and/or rain protection.

Cancellation policy

In the rare event that HorsePower Riding Academy needs to cancel or postpone a lesson or activity for any reason, for example but not limited to, extreme weather conditions, safety or security, minimum numbers not being achieved etc, HPRA will arrange a make-up class.

If a rider is unable to attend a booked class for any reason, they must advise HPRA at least 24 hours before the class, and arrange a make-up class with the instructor, to be taken within the term of the booking. If the class is not made up within the term, the missed class is forfeited. Missed classes not advised to HPRA more than 24 hours ahead of the class will be forfeited.

Booking terms and conditions

Full payment is required before commencement of the riding lesson or other equestrian-related event by direct deposit into the HorsePower Riding Academy bank account.
